My man, Marlowe

There's a prolix piece in the Telegraph about Raymond Chandler, booze and finishing the script of Double Indemnity. My comment:

Wodehouse and Chandler, both angelic stylists (tho Wodehouse sits by the right hand of God), were Anglo-Americans who went to Dulwich College. It's less widely known that Philip Marlowe went to Harrow (like the most famous Anglo-American of all).
Ian Fleming, creator of James Bond, interviewed a suitably whisky-sodden Chandler:
