For a political philosophy based on theft, moral superiority doesn't seem to be in the cards, but nevertheless, the past decade saw the left assume a morally superior tone over issues over prisoner coercion, equivocating between 'the rack' and putting underwear on people's heads, complaining about slow job growth, burgeoning deficits, intolerance, erosion of privacy and a litany of other human-rights abuses.
All of that, every single element, have accelerated substantially under the Obama administration. We are back to the Clinton-era policy of 'rendition', which simply turns prisoners with valuable information over to governments who actually do use the modern equivalent of the rack.
Now Obama is seriously considering training the Indonesian military in advance military tactics. The Indonesia military isn't like our military--its effectively the mafia, engaged in extortion, murder, torture and all sorts of nasty business. What Obama is proposing is no different than training Mexican drug traffickers (who've been assassinating and beheading people in Mexico at an impressive rate this past weekend...).
While its true that the Indonesian military is engaged in a robust PR effort to provide Obama a fig leaf for his Chicago-style foreign policy, no one is really fooled.
Meanwhile, throughout the sinestrosphere--crickets chirping. No mention at all in the New York Times. Nothing on NBC, MSNBC, CNN, etc...
You're not surprised either I see...
