Misogynist Narrative

Its always fascinating to consider that Democrats are supposed to be the champion of women's rights, while Democrat officials are model misogynists. The incredible number of high officials getting caught with their pants down suggests a rampant culture of sexual objectification of women. For every governor or Presidential candidate who gets caught, there are hundreds who never do.

Liberal "bitches"--and I use that term to refer to their subservient roles in the left's culture, seem to accept this as the price for women's rights. Its pathetic, but they don't seem to mind.

Or do they?

Whether it was his treatment of Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail (as in his condescending remark that she was "likeable enough") or his clearly career-oriented mate who has been toned down and remorphed into a Stepford Wife, I just don't get the impression this man is comfortable with women. Nor do I believe he cares about them beyond needing women's votes. It's an act and a thoroughly see-through, amateur one at that.

That pretty mild criticism, but in the current media climate, any criticism at all is fairly astonishing. Bonnie Erbe is no Phylis Shafly disciple. She's from New York, went to Columbia and built a career writing about women's issues. Clearly she expressing a barely contained (and representative?) resentment towards a President who just doesn't have much use for the ladies.

The contrast with President Bush is instructive--there probably hasn't been a president in recent memory as respectful and appreciative of talented women than he is.

ac chickadee:

The Democrats are phonies. The heck with respect. It's all about numbers. So many blacks, so many seniors, so many women, etc. Just blocks of people who will vote for them.
