We had fainting on the campaign trail, now women are having dreams of Barack Obama. And since this is the age we're in, where even adults think nothing of sharing the most personal or mundane detail of their lives with millions, it is inescapable. And since this is the era of Obama, we are reading about this in the New York Times. All the news that's fit to print, yes we can.The press as props news conference yesterday was more of the same. At least some on the left are grossed out too.
We have been here before, but not to quite this extent. I thought it was a one off with Bill Clinton, but it seems to be a pattern among Dem women. Somehow Dem men also gush over Barack. And somehow engage in some envy of W.
Will we have a Barbra in the Lincoln bedroom and a Monica in the Oval office? But maybe not. Unlike Bill, Barack seems a bit aloof. Already he has vanted to be alone at Camp David. And Michelle is tramping around to the depts., starting with Interior. Already they seem like living WPA wall murals at your local post office.
Maybe a visit to the Dept. of Agriculture next, Michelle. Take Barack along. And I'll dream up an appropriate new mascot for the Dems.
