Major Garrett's question last night about Joe Biden's comment that even if the Obama administration did everything right, there was still a 30% chance of failure, was one of the few brilliant questions from the press gallery.
Brilliant because it was a subtle but direct confrontation of Obama's assertion that the bill has to be passed to save the country from economic extinction.
Obama's response was a less than subtle dismissal of Joe Biden as the clown we all know him to be.
As reporters started giggling, Obama came close to conceding that Biden was indeed a joke. "You know, I don't remember exactly what Joe was referring to, not surprisingly."The President went on to say that "I think what Joe may have been suggesting, although I wouldn't ascribe any numerical percentage to any of this, is that given the magnitude of the challenges that we have, any single thing that we do is going to be part of the solution, not all of the solution."
Of course, Biden wasn't saying anything of the sort - Obama knew that and all the rest of us did too.
The left-wing wants to pretend they're in on the joke too, but hope you forget that Barack Obama, who ran on the superiority of judgment over experience, picked Bozo for his Vice President because his experience was apparently more important than his judgment.
Leave it to the foaming-at-the-mouth conservatives at Fox to actually take our elected vice president seriously, thus embarrassing Obama in front of all the East Coast media elites. So biased! Approximate transcript:"Uh, Mr. President, Joe Biden said something yesterday about how you two will eventually destroy the world, forever. Care to comment?"
"Oh, that's just the vice president. We all know he's mentally unbalanced, right guys? Ha ha ha ha. But seriously: He's nuts, please keep him away from sharp objects."
Whistling past the graveyard I'd say. Only a few months ago, Joe Biden was hailed as a statesman, an expert in foreign affairs, an asset to the ticket. From hero to zero in mere weeks. Do you think it can happen to Obama? You bet it can.
