mollohan.jpgAllan Mollohan regularly makes all the "Most Corrupt" lists of Congress critters. He first got on everybody's radar after having to file two dozen "amendments" to his previous six financial disclosures. He's been under federal investigation since then.

When he was elected to Congress in 2000, he had half a million in assets and was making 80K a year. Only four years later he had assets of 6.3 million and income between $200,000.00 and 1.2 million. Allan inherited his seat from his father Bob, who held it for 15 years.

I think when Roll Call has a five page report on you, its a pretty good sign that you're going to be in jail in the near future.

On March 22, 2004, Rep. Alan Mollohan (D-W.Va.) collected just over $300,000 for his re-election campaign, more than half the total that he spent for the two-year election cycle.

Of the donations he collected that day, at least $100,000 came from individuals tied to companies that have addresses in the office park built around the Alan B. Mollohan Innovation Center and operated by the West Virginia High Technology Cooperative, a foundation that Mollohan helped create.

The list of tenants in the office park reads like a who’s who of Mollohan campaign donors. But the connections between Mollohan and the building named after him don’t end there.

Blagojevich's political immolation is like someone shooting a record book buck deer. Everyone oohs, and aahs, and the predictably, a lot more hunters flood the area, figuring where there is one record buck, there is probably another one. That's actually true for the most part, since record book animals are a function of local genetics and environment--just like political corruption.

Mollohan has been sighted, and his "antlers" are huge. I'm sure he'll grace someone's wall 'fore long.
